Hello all! I just joined(I noticed a distinct lack of science on my Flist and decided to rectify that). My name is Ellen and I'm from Canada.
I don't consider myself particularly knowledgable* in theoretical physics, but I find it all facinating. I'm looking forward to participating in discussions and whatnot.
I've read Hawking's The Univers in a Nutshell and am in the middle of Brian Greene's The Fabric of the Cosmos. Last summer I had the oppertunity to attend the University of Waterloo's ISSYP camp. Two weeks of lectures at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, it was amazing! Anyone 16 or 17 years old should check it out. Check out their site anyway, everyone. They have a public lecture series that's available online.
*Particularly knowledgable would mean understanding more than not. There's so much bizarre stuff out there that I probably still won't consider myself particularly knowledgeable when I'm a Physics Major.
